| Wednesday, 10 January, 2001, 14:07 GMT Second man in court over Ferguson 'raid' ![]() Duncan Ferguson is one of Everton's top players A second man has appeared in court charged in connection with an alleged break-in at the home of football star Duncan Ferguson. Barry Dawson, from Burscough, Lancashire, is accused of assaulting the former Scotland international at his home in nearby Rufford early on Sunday. He is also charged with burglary. Mr Dawson appeared at Chorley Magistrates in Lancashire on Wednesday with two black eyes and a swollen face. He was bailed for six days on condition that he does not approach Ferguson or his wife Janine, does not enter Rufford and lives at a relative's address in Lancashire. The 21-year-old was interviewed and charged by detectives on Tuesday after leaving Ormskirk District Hospital in Lancashire where he had been receiving treatment. Another man, Michael Pratt, from Ormskirk was granted bail when he appeared at Ormskirk Magistrates charged with burglary on Tuesday afternoon. FA Cup victory Mr Pratt, 22, is due to reappear back at the court on 16 January. Mr Ferguson, 29, suffered minor head injuries in the incident. His wife Janine and his six-and-a-half-month-old daughter were at home when the alleged break-in took place. The 6ft 4in striker, who rejoined Everton in a �3.75m transfer from Newcastle United in the summer, played in the club's FA Cup victory against Watford on Saturday. |
