These are the major English local transport schemes - region by region - that will go ahead after receiving Government funding. NORTH EAST Tyne and Wear Centrelink (�26.4m) - a dedicated busway, featuring state-of-the art buses, connecting a new public transport interchange at the MetroCentre with Gateshead and Newcastle. Tyne and Wear Stephenson's Corridor Jobslink (�10.9m) - high-quality public transport services to regeneration areas in North and South Tyneside, providing interchange with the Metro, railway and ferry. Tyne and Wear Track Dualling (�9.6m) - doubling the track capacity of a section of the Metro network, providing more operational flexibility and timetable improvements. Newcastle Quayside Public Transport Project (�5.2m) - high quality public transport access to new developments on Newcastle and Gateshead Quaysides. NORTH WEST Greater Manchester Urban Traffic Control System �5.5m) - the system will create priority for public transport at traffic signals and a better pedestrian and cyclist environment. Warrington Urban Traffic Control System (�5.1m) - state-of-the-art traffic management system, including priority measures for public transport and improved information for public transport users. YORKSHIRE AND HUMBERSIDE South Yorkshire (Doncaster) A638 Great North Road Quality Bus Corridor (�12.1m) - enhanced public transport facilities, linking larger areas with high unemployment to job opportunities in the town centre and south of Doncaster. West Yorks-South Bradford Integrated Transport Improvements (�19.5m) - a package of integrated measures providing environmental improvements, enhanced public transport facilities, improved access to new employment sites, park-and-ride and improvements to the strategic network in the south of Bradford. Leeds Inner Ring Road Stage 7 �35.6m) - developed in conjunction with inner ring road stage 6 as well as with the city centre loop and public transport box local schemes, this project will take traffic away from the centre of Leeds. East Leeds Link Road (�20.7m) - key strategic link road between Leeds Inner Ring Road, Aire Valley Employment Area and the M1. Includes a package of measures such as traffic calming, road widening, new access roads and segregated bus lanes. EAST MIDLANDS Derby City Integrated Transport Project (�23.4m) - a major public transport project combining traffic management and bus priority measures which will reduce traffic in the city centre and improve public transport access. WEST MIDLANDS West Midlands Hagley Road Bus Showcase (�13.6m) - provides bus lanes without reducing road capacity for cars, bringing improved journey times and reliability. Walsall Integrated Transport Strategy (�18m) - particularly focused on improving bus access to the town centre, the scheme includes provision of bus lanes and bus gates and will bring improved journey times and reliability. West Midlands Outer Circle Bus Showcase (�21.3m) - 22 key interchanges including ones with seven other bus showcase routes and six with rail lines. The scheme is likely to attract up to 2,000 trips per day which were previously made by car. Nuneaton Development Project (�5.4m) - a package of measures to help the economic regeneration of the town centre and boost the local economy. It includes bus station improvements, cycle lockers and racks in pedestrian areas and cycle routes. Worcestershire Wyre Piddle Bypass (�5.6m) - bypass for Wyre Piddle and Upper Moor. A junction of at George Lane will remove landfill site traffic from Wyre Piddle and minor roads. EAST OF ENGLAND Southend-on-Sea A13 Passengers Transport Corridor (�14.5m) - a package of measures to address the increasing congestion on the A13 and A127/1159 transport corridors, including bus priority measures, improvements to bus infrastructure and improved bus time information at bus shelters. SOUTH EAST Crawley Fastway Guided Bus (�23.9m) - high-quality bus priority and guided bus scheme that will cut waiting times, improve journey times and reliability and reduce congestion in the Gatwick airport area. SOUTH WEST Plymouth-Northern Corridor Public Transport Scheme (�8.4m) - package of measures, including park-and-ride and better traffic management and highway improvements to deliver safety improvements, better pedestrian and cycle facilities and improved reliability and access to public transport. Wiltshire-Salisbury Package: Salisbury Integrated Measures (�13.7m) - a multi-modal solution to the traffic problems of the city of Salisbury.
