Google limits free searches for news websites

Newspaper publishers are now able to set a limit on the number of free news articles people can read via Google's search engine.

If users click on more than five articles from a single source in a day they may be routed to sites demanding payment or registration.

The move follows claims from some media companies that the search engine is profiting from online news pages.

The BBC's Rory Cellan-Jones explains how the new system works.
