Fewer than half of net users believe they are responsible for their own safety online, with one in six feeling it is the banking industry's role to keep them safe.

It also revealed that more than one in 10 of Britons has been a victim of online fraud in the last 12 months.

Here are some of the other key findings from the research, which was carried out by the government-backed organisation, Get Safe Online.
