Clips will include Arsenal post match highlights |
Mobile firm O2 has become the latest to offer video services via mobile phones.
It will begin trials of a mobile video service with 350 of its customers at the end of this month.
The trial will run on its existing network, despite the fact that 02 was one of the five UK operators to spend billions on third generation networks, which are designed to offer high speed multimedia services.
The trial will offer news clips from satellite broadcaster Sky, sport, weather and entertainment.
Money-spinner
O2 will also draw on its sponsorship of Arsenal football club and the England rugby team to offer exclusive interviews with Arsene Wenger.
It will also provide post match highlights of Arsenal matches and rugby internationals.
As the number of people buying new phones flattens out in the UK and across Europe, firms are desperate to find new money-making services such as picture messaging and video content.
"We want to develop a range of communications and entertainment services that our customers really want," said Dave McGlade, Chief Executive of O2 UK.
"Trials like this give us the opportunity to listen to our customers and get crucial feedback," he added.
