I have many fond memories of this beautiful ship. My father was on the design team for this ship and I worked as a fitting out joiner working in the Captain's quarters. I was once caught in the double bottom checking out the drive shaft by no other than Cunard Chairman Sir Basil Smallpiece. I used my father's name to save my "neck." When I was on vacation in Barbados I was most fortunate to be allowed on board for a quick tour. The officers were very friendly.

The Hythe and Dibden Brass Band of which I was Secretary regularly gave concerts on board QE2 before sailing out of Southampton in 1992 to 1994.
Karlheinz Balz, Prestatyn
I have worked on the QE2 in 1989 with my Girlfriend. I was a dining room waiter and my girlfriend was part of the dance team. It was a really nice experience. We sailed from Los Angeles to Southampton and I enjoyed every minute of it.

Many years ago, I saw this beautiful ship on her speed trials, and thought how majestic and regal she looked. There is no doubt that her class and elegance are now something rare and indeed special to behold. Well done Cunard and the QE2, you will be sadly missed on the trans-Atlantic route. I had the pleasure of sailing on the QE 2 in May 2006 to Norway. A wonderful Ship and Crew, where nothing was too much for them to ensure your journey was a truly memorable voyage. She will be sadly missed by all. Good wishes to her next adventure, and I hope she will be enjoyed by the people who visit her

I worked on the QE2 from 1991 - 1993 as communications assistant in the radio room. I was one if not the first of the first woman to venture into the male environment of the radio room on QE2. I had a fabulous time sailing the seas and taking in the world.
