Much of the UK is enjoying a break from the later winter chill of early March and basking in temperatures of 19C.
Intermittent sunshine is predicted for much of the country over the weekend and weather forecaster Peter Gibbs announced "spring is here".
Have you seen signs of spring? Are you glad to see the end of winter? How are you preparing for the warmer weather?

On Saturday I ate my lunch in the garden surrounded by the smell of freshly mown grass, birds twittering away and the sun beaming down. I wouldn't have wished myself anywhere else.

The birds are getting louder so I guess spring really is in the air at last
We still have snow on the ground but the temperatures during the day are now above zero so it's thawing quite quickly. The birds are getting louder so I guess spring really is in the air at last.
Dawn Mller, Sweden It's raining rather than snowing now in Norway.
Ellie, Norway
It actually just snowed here, so it really isn't anything like spring. New York (the state) is too cold anyway, so we barely know what summer is like, let alone the difference between spring and winter.
Amelia, New York, US
It has been cold, damp and misty since the weekend in this part of the world. So yes, spring has definitely arrived in the north-east of Scotland.
Alastair, Portlethen, Aberdeen
Yes - we've had the first ants of the year get into the kitchen. This is a sure sign of spring!
Roge Price, Nr. Reading, UK
Spring arrived in our garden last November when a pink rhododendron in a sheltered sunny spot decided it was time to bloom. It has given us a wonderful display since then, and is still going strong.
Brian, UK
Our eight-year old cats certainly think so. They spent all yesterday evening chasing each other round the house and acting all kittenish.
Julie, London, UK
In true British fashion, the slightest peek of sunshine and out come the shorts, bikinis, and deck chairs
By the way people have been dressing you would have thought summer was here. In true British fashion, the slightest peek of sunshine and out come the shorts, bikinis, and deck chairs. Please, don't get ahead of yourselves.
Karen, London, UK Spent Saturday in Regent's park with my family. It was packed in the playground and my little girl was happy to be running around and eating ice-cream. Bet that Easter is freezing cold and raining though!
Lisa, UK
Sunday night 20th March - our elderly cat spent her first night outside since November. Spring has definitely arrived.
Andrew M, Walsall, UK
Spring? What spring? It's summer all year round here!
Leon, Singapore
I guess spring has arrived, though where I live we still have dark cloudy skies and rain's on it's way.
Sarah Wright, Woodland California, USA
Saturday was spent wearing shades and shorts, and driving around in an open topped sports car. Ludicrous, quite frankly for March, but I'm not complaining.
Dan, Yateley, UK
Tulips are popping through the soil in Ohio. Goodbye winter.
Dwayne Chastain, West Jefferson, Ohio
Yes, but who really cares? Can we have a bit of reality here please? It seems to me that the slightest sight of sun and all the idiots come out in shorts, sleeveless tops and open toed shoes. People tend to forget it still isn't too late for the weather to turn, a cold snap arrive and put all those sun worshippers back into their warmer clothes.
Karen Smith, London, UK
I was out on my road bike cycling in a club time trial on Saturday afternoon. On Sunday I was out for a five hour ride to Hungerford and back. Today I can see a shadow of my watch strap on my wrist. Getting a suntan in March has to be a first.
Dougie Lawson, Basingstoke, UK
A lovely two days of warm and balmy sunshine, followed immediately by cold and bitter winds. Honestly, I can't make up my mind if spring has indeed arrived. I try not to think too much about good weather, for fear of jinxing it or scaring it away!
Ramya, Welwyn
Spring has most definitely arrived. The woodlands are alive with the sound of birdsong, daffodils and hyacinths have burst splashes of colour over the landscape; I have even seen clumps of tulips and trees in blossom.
L Davidson, Belfast
This time of years makes me so glad to live in the UK. The change in the weather and watching the seasons turn is priceless - I wouldn't want to live in a country that was hot all year round.
Sue Rowland, UK
We haven't really had a winter here but spring is here, bees, birds and even a Red Admiral butterfly sunbathing on the patio.
T J Newman, Bournemouth UK
From our ivy outside the house the first splutterings of the sparrows coughing in the pollution, from the street below the first two car alarms chirp into life and in the background the wail of a Police siren. Yes spring has arrived in London.
Karl, London
As far as I'm concerned last year's spring hasn't stopped. A common primrose plant in our garden planted in February 2004 has bloomed continuously since last spring and, apart from some minor recent frost damage to some of the flowers, is still in full bloom.
John M, UK
Yes, spring was on Saturday, but have we seen the last of winter yet?
Bill, Lanarkshire
I've got a horrible cold, it must be spring!
James Miller, Harlow, UK
Spring, summer, autumn and winter all come every day in Wales.
Derran, Wales
Yep. I saw butterflies outside today while I was working in my garden in the 78-degree weather.

Preparing myself for tubs of ice-cream ahead
It felt warm during the afternoon today because the sun was glaring down brightly for a change. Heard the geese calls and can't wait for the last of the snow to melt! Looking out for new buds on trees and the grass to turn green, and preparing myself for tubs of ice-cream ahead!
Rumana, Toronto, Canada Sitting on the grass, sipping on sweet orange fruit juice and listening to idle gossip. Those spring times have come and gone as quickly as one could say "spring". This is due to the constant misuse of the Planet Earth. Once we stop our destruction and open our eyes, we will realise global warming is already here, not around the corner. That is when spring will arrive and stay, not come for a brief visit!
Shivani Joshi and Tejal Raval, Watford, England
Yes, Spring is here; the shops are full of barbeques.
Vic, UK
Yes. It has started to rain again!
Darren Drummond, Whitburn, West Lothian
My granddad got a reading of 98 in his garden! It really made his day
Amy, Reading
On Friday I heard music in my head for the first time in yonks, the sunshine and the blooming flowers had a lot to do with it.
Phil, UK
Yes, lots of sunshine but luckily also lots of snow. Looking forward to Easter holidays and skiing (cross-country) in the woods and on the lakes. Great!

It's nice to see a blue sky instead of the usual relentlessly dreary white cloud cover
London is balmy. Warm, sunny and daffodils in bloom everywhere. Not that we had a winter down here anyway. But it's nice to see a blue sky instead of the usual relentlessly dreary white cloud cover.
Theresa, UK Here in Maryland it's 65F and the sun is shining, the kids are outside and Wales have taken the Grand Slam. Yes, it's definitely spring.
Jan Cordani, Maryland, USA
Yes, spring is here - I've got hay fever already! But loving the sunshine all the same.
Ellie, Taunton, England
Here in Delhi, spring has caught us by surprise, just a week or two ago, when the BBC weather site showed us a forecast of 2 degrees (yes we consider it pretty cold here) I postponed keeping warm clothes in the closet. Now, it is spring here, clear sky and flowers of every colour all around the IIT campus! I should say sudden springs surprise me, pleasantly!
Sasikanth, Delhi India
Sadly we're still in the bowels of a brutal frigid and grey snowy winter .... help .... please British Airways can you spare a couple of tickets for a trip to sunny England! Thanks so much.
Fred Bogden, London, Ontario, Canada
I lived in London for ten years, married an English woman, and promptly moved to Hawaii because both of us couldn't stand the day to day anticipation of a glimpse of the sun. The reason Britain's are obsessed with the weather is because it sucks. It sure is nice to see the sun after so many months of grey, dull weather though. Enjoy it while you can because the vicious cycle of rubbish weather will never end for you. I know that every day is going to be a sunny 80 degrees at my house.
David, Kailua, HI
We never really had winter here, all the rain that we normally get went down to Southern California. We had the driest February that I can remember. So we have had daffodils, primroses, pansies, the forsythia and camellia are in bloom, although we have a gale blowing at the moment. It will probably blow all the blossoms away.
Waldport, USA
Our first sign of spring is less and less snow on our front lawn.
Roy T Clarke, Kingston Canada
Two weeks ago I was snowed in, yesterday I was out in my bikini (no photo available).
Fiona, Whitstable, UK
For once, there's no reason to moan about the weather
"Are you glad to see the end of winter?" Rhetorical question, right? I've been enjoying it all week and it's helped me to shift a cold. Add the Easter hols which means easier journeys to work and for once, there's no reason to moan about the weather.
Ken, London, UK I have been in France for the past week and on Wednesday I went to Disneyland Paris. It was so hot! Coats were immediately dumped, shorts and T-shirts put on and a huge supply of water made up. I should think that it was at least 30C and everyone was roasting. The snow was nice while it lasted but it was lovely to see the new signs of life coming out once again. There's a saying that says that "if March comes in like a lamb, then it will go out like a lion and if March comes in like a lion, it will go out like a lamb". Well, March certainly came in like a lion with the wintry snow scenes, so hopefully the great spring weather will continue and March will go out like a lamb.
Catherine, Suffolk, UK
Spring? what spring? Its summer all year round here!
Rob, KL, Malaysia (ex-pat)
No. Spring has not arrived and we're supposed to get snow tomorrow. Everyone is pretty fed-up with the weather as it's been cold, snowy and very dreary. There is still snow on the ground, there are no flower buds in sight and the grass is brown. Hurry up sunshine!
Julie, Ontario, Canada
