Dozens of people have been killed in a bombing in the Pakistani city of Peshawar, the latest in a series of attacks. They come as Pakistan's army conducts a campaign against the Taliban in South Waziristan.
Officials said the explosion was caused by a car bomb. Security has been stepped up in Pakistan, but authorities appear unable to stop the continuing attacks, a BBC correspondent says.
The attack was in the Peepal Mandi area of the north-western city. Rescue workers battled to douse the flames after buildings were set on fire by the explosion.
Crowds dug through the rubble to search for victims. One witness described seeing bodies being ferried away on motorcycles and scooters.
Scores of people were injured in Wednesday's attack. The market that was hit sells products for women, and women and children were among the wounded.
