Gunmen armed with suicide vests and grenades stormed the offices of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) in Lahore. Several people - including policemen and militants - were killed in the ensuing battle.
Almost simultaneously, militants struck two police training centres on the city's outskirts.
Witnesses said more than 20 attackers stormed a police commando academy in Bedian and a police school at Manawan.
A three-hour siege followed at one of the police centres, in which several policemen were killed and injured.
Among the dead, security officials identified 15 police, a civilian and 10 attackers who were shot dead or blew themselves up.
Militants also bombed a police station in the north-west town of Kohat, near Peshawar, killing 11 people including several policemen.
The attack in Kohat saw a bomber ram his car into the wall of the police station compound, causing part of the building to collapse.
Later, a car bomb ripped through a residential building for government employees in Peshawar, killing a child.
This is all that was left of the car following the blast.
A number of people were wounded in the Peshawar blast, including this girl.
Pakistani authorities say they have regained full control of all the police centres after hours of clashes with militants. This militant was shot dead and disarmed before he could detonate his explosives in Lahore.
Pakistan has seen an upsurge in violence in recent weeks, with attacks being targeted at the country's police and security forces.
