Kabul blast ahead of election

A car bomb has exploded in the Afghan capital, Kabul, two days before the country's scheduled election.

The suspected suicide attack took place on a busy road leading from the capital to the biggest US army base in the country, only a few hours after a rocket attack on the presidential palace.

Security forces have been on high alert ahead of Thursday's vote.
