US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has taken part in a private ceremony for the victims of last November's Mumbai attacks which left 170 people dead.
Currently in Mumbai, Mrs Clinton is also likely to press for better ties between India and Pakistan when she goes to Delhi on Sunday.
