UN commissioner in Pakistan

The city of Mingora has been shut down in Pakistan's Swat Valley as the army increases its drive against the Taleban in the area.

There are an estimated 800,000 civilians displaced from the latest round of fighting which began last week, adding to the half a million already on the move.
