An Indian heatwave that has pushed temperatures above 40 degrees Celsius is forecast to continue for at least two or three days.
Millions of people in nine states and two federally-administered territories braved the heat to cast their votes in the latest stage of the month-long general election.
Hot weather is normal in the weeks before the monsoon, but in some places temperatures are the highest for 50 years.
