Obama names Clinton for global job

US president-elect Barack Obama has nominated his former Democrat rival, Hillary Clinton, as secretary of state, the country's top foreign policy post.

In her acceptance speech, Senator Clinton said the American people's choice of Barack Obama as president showed a desire for the US to be a force for positive change in the world.
