The authorities in Bangladesh have appointed the first woman member to the high court.

She is Nazmun Ara Sultana, a former district court judge who was sworn in along with four other new judges.

A BBC correspondent in Bangladesh says that, although the country's judicial system is still dominated by men, women are getting increasingly involved in the legal profession.
