Lawyers protest against Musharraf

Lawyers in Pakistan have demanded the reinstatement of judges sacked by President Pervez Musharraf.

The demonstrators were due to converge on the capital, Islamabad, at the end of a nationwide protest.

Politician and former cricketer Imran Khan said protesters hoped to have an independent justice system 'for the first time in Pakistan's history'.
