Pramod Mahajan's son Rahul was in a critical condition |
The son of a leading Indian politican killed last month is recovering in hospital after suffering from a mysterious ailment, doctors say. Rahul Mahajan was taken critically ill early on Friday and an associate of his found dead from the same condition.
They were taken ill after the two ate a meal at Mr Mahajan's house in Delhi. Police are questioning three men who visited the house.
Doctors say they found no traces of drugs such as heroin or cocaine.
They said that a "white powder" was seized from both men after they were arrested.
Results of a post mortem on Mr Mahajan's companion are still awaited. Doctors said earlier that initial reports suggested both men had been food poisoned.
The incident came less than a month after Mr Mahajan's father, Pramod Mahajan, a former government minister - was allegedly shot dead by his own brother.
