An education initiative in India aimed at increasing primary school attendance, especially among working children, gets underway tomorrow later today, Saturday in the western state of Rajasthan.

The programme, reported to be costing about one hundred million dollars, is supported by the World Bank, the Indian central government and the state government.

The minister for urban development in Rajasthan, C.P.Joshi, said the programme would involve both formal and informal education for children between the ages of six and fourteen with flexible time-tables to accomodate children's work schedules.
