Rebels belonging to a banned Maoist group have shot dead two policemen in the southern Indian state of Andhra Pradesh, police say. The incident is said to have taken place on Wednesday night in a remote area of Vishakapatnam.
Police say the rebels ambushed a bus in which the two men were travelling and dragged them out before shooting them.
Maoist violence has been on the rise since peace talks between the state and the rebels collapsed in January.
