Representatives from Bangladesh and the United States have opened talks aimed at signing a bilateral trade agreement. The meeting is taking place in Dhaka, the Bangladeshi capital.
Officials say that the Trade and Investment Framework Agreement (TIFA) will facilitate business and investment between the two countries.
They say Dhaka is negotiating for greater access to the US market for its key exports such as garments.
The Bangladeshi Commerce Minister, Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury, said the two countries disagreed on some issues but negotiations would continue in order to finalise the TIFA deal.
