| Friday, 6 September, 2002, 17:51 GMT 18:51 UK Indian rebel factions come together Two factions of the rebel Kuki National Front, which is active in some of India's north-eastern states, have decided to put their differences aside before further peace talks with the federal government. The latest talks between the two factions took place under the mediation of the chief mninster of the north east Indian state of Mizoram -- Pu Zoramthanga. Talking to the BBC from Calcutta, where the negotiations were held, Mr Zoramthanga said that talks between the Indian Government and another north-eastern rebel group -- the National Socialist Council of Nagaland (NSCN)- are also likely to start within the next two months. The Naga and the Kuki rebels -- both active in roughly the same areas in India's north east -- fought each other bitterly for ten years, before they agreed on a ceasefire three years ago.
