Wild elephants rampage in Bangladesh
Reports from Bangladesh say that a herd of wild elephants searching for food attacked a village in the north of the country, killed an elderly man and damaged houses and rice crops.

The reports say that Abul Hossain, who was 80, was killed when 25 elephants attacked the village of Jhenaigati, 150 km north of the capital, Dhaka.

The herd of elephants rampaged through the district for several hours, trampling rice crops before making for the surrounding hills.

Correspondents say that in the past six months, four villagers have been killed by attacking elephants in the same region of Bangladesh.
