The Iowa based foundation said B R Barwale had dedicated his life to improving agricultural productivity in India. Mr Barwale, who began life as a farmer, is chairman of Maharashtra Hybrid Seeds Company which sells seeds to farmers throughout India and plans to expand into Africa.
