They went on the rampage, torching seats in Dhaka's Bangabandhu National Stadium and damaging cars in the nearby streets as they left the stadium. The trouble began when the referee refused to give a penalty in the match between Rahmatganj and Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club, one of the most popular clubs in Bangladesh. The match was about to end at the time, with the score level at 1-1. Police used tear gas and baton charged the unruly crowd. They arrested three people. The match was abandoned.
