Pakistani authorities have arrested a man they believe to be a prominent member of a notorious Chinese people trafficking gang.
Officials say Uyou Jingtong is a member of a so-called 'Snakehead' group involved in smuggling people from the Chinese province of Fujian.
His arrest comes after several months of work by Pakistan's Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).
A group of 20 Chinese men and women about to be sent to an unknown destination in Europe with fake travel documents have also been detained.
The immigrants, including 13 women, were arrested when the FIA raided the gang's hideout in Karachi.
European connection
All are said to be in their early 20s and were brought to Karachi via Bangkok with the promise of being sent to an undisclosed destination in Europe.

He said several fake Chinese passports and immigration stamps of some European countries were also recovered from the hideout.
Senior officials said the investigation began a few months ago when some of the illegal Chinese immigrants were deported from Europe and returned to Karachi as they had travelled on a Pakistani airliner.
However, officials said they did not yet know if the same criminal gang had been involved in the incident in which 58 Chinese illegal immigrants suffocated in the back of a lorry in the British port of Dover last year.
