More than 50,000 well-groomed and decorated camels, horses and cattle are participating in the five-day event. ![]() At sunrise, camel traders prepare their livestock for sale ![]() The camels are taken to a water tank for cleaning. . . ![]() . . . and then fed by the owners ![]() The desert at Pushkar comes alive for five days ![]() Even a mundane ritual like collecting camel dung becomes a photo opportunity ![]() Traders sit in groups as they await buyers. . . ![]() . . . while women look about anxiously ![]() By sunset, it is time to wind up and wait for another day |
