Red squirrels are notoriously shy and when they do appear, they move extremely quickly - especially when they are babies.

To catch some of these endangered youngsters on film, the BBC left a camera running in a squirrel breeding centre at Pensthorpe Nature Reserve, using a lure of some tasty nuts to attract the creatures.

This speeded-up footage shows the results.

Scientists have recently discovered that some red squirrels have developed immunity to a disease that has ravaged their numbers.
