Despite online guidelines specifying age limitations, some children are still joining social networking sites too young.
As part of Safer Internet Day on 8 February, School Reporters from The Knights Templar School in Baldock explore the issue.
Teenagers must be over 13 to use Facebook but the results of a school-wide survey found that 70 per cent of the 405 pupils questioned, who created a profile, were under 13.
The survey also revealed that, at the school, only 25 per cent of children think their parents know what they are doing online.
