Reporting day two for Sarah and Olivia involved checking out the track and field heats taking place in East Kilbride at an IAAF standard all-weather track. Thankfully the weather had improved a bit and so the girls fully made use of their media passes!
Their first interviewee was a familiar one - Ashleigh a fellow student from Hamilton College. She told the School Reporters she was crying while warming up as she was so nervous. However, she successfully qualified for 100m semi-final and went on to finish second in that race
David, 12 and Sawyer, 15 were both competing in 1500m for Team Chesterfield from America. David told the School Reporters it was his first time travelling overseas and he had "bad jet lag!". They said they loved the food and everyone being so friendly
This is Miha, 14 who represented Slovenia in the long jump. He told Sarah and Olivia that is was nice to be back in Scotland as his parents used to have a motor home and come here on holiday. He did say it was a big windy to be jumping though!
Before leaving the athletics events the School Reporters bumped into Team Lanarkshire sprinter Mhairi. She has been the face of the 45th International Children�s Games in Lanarkshire and featured on a 90ft-long promotional poster at Glasgow Central Station
This is Jamie and Andrew from Team Lanarkshire winning their doubles match against the Dutch team. They are relieved to get through as Andrew hurt his back and he said the victory was all down to Jamie. Sarah and Olivia saw him pull off some impressive shots
