Mhairaid shows she is a quick learner - another key journalism skill - and enlists the assistance of interpreter Grace for her interview with Chinese judo player Chon Hou. They have travelled all the way from Macau and Chon Hou is about to compete in the final of his event
Cillian arrives in Lanarkshire from Tralee in Ireland to discover that no-one else has entered the same judo weight class as him! Cillian finds himself in the weight class above but goes on to win the gold medal!

California Girls may be a song by The Beach Boys, but these California girls -from Los Angeles - are all beach volleyball players and came together as a team especially to compete in the ICG. They think the Scottish summer is cold but say they received a very warm welcome
James is a local lad and competing in the sailing as part of the Lanarkshire team. He says he really enjoyed talking to competitors from all other countries and insists all nerves from being a member of the home side disappear as soon as he took to the water
