Hamilton College School Reporters Sarah, 12 and Olivia, 13 give up a day of their summer holidays to report from the first practice day at the Lanarkshire International Children's Games.
School Reporters spoke to Peyton (14), Chase (14), Rachel (15) and coach Mike from Team Chesterfield. It is the America team's first time in Scotland. Mike said "it's a dream to be here" and the students agreed it was exciting to be at the home of golf
Team Chesterfield golfers in action. They said they didn't mind the wet weather as they had just come from 100C temperatures back home! Rachel told School Reporters she'd been playing golf for 10 years and also plays volleyball and loves to dance
Sarah, Eoife and Dylan are golfers from Team Tralee Ireland. They said they were looking forward to ICG experience. Dylan also said he is excited to think golf will be part of Olympics 2016 and thinks US Open champion Rory McIlroy is a good role model!
Eva, 14 is a golfer for Team Lanarkshire. She told School Reporters she is "looking forward to competing against new people" and has been practising hard. Her first game is against a girl from Taiwan - she hopes they will be able to communicate!
School Reporters Sarah and Olivia swapped a wet and windy golf course for the inside tennis venue to see competitors try out the courts for the first time. The International Children's Games 2011 tennis event has over 60 young players are taking part
This is Ian, tennis coach for Team Lanarkshire. He told School Reporters it is "so exciting to see all these people come to Lanarkshire!". He has been trying to check out the boy's competitors who Team Lanarkshire will play tomorrow.
Praewpisuti, Atikan, Teeradon and Kamonwan are tennis players from Bangkok, Thailand. They are looking forward to making new friends at ICG. This is their first visit to Scotland although they've done lots of international competitions before.

This is Iris and Michiel who are tennis competitors for Team Joure from the Netherlands. They told School Reporters they are looking forward to the ICG opening ceremony, especially after a week of non-stop training before the competition begins!
Sarah and Olivia also meet Pija, 14 from Slovenia who is very excited to be taking part in the tennis singles. She said she hasn't been doing any specific preparation - just playing five or six times a week. Olivia and Sarah were amazed Pija is so tall!
Team Lanarkshire tennis aces Andrew and Jamie getting in some practice before their first matches. Jamie is from Hutchesons' Grammar School, Glasgow and previously told School Reporters how he had extra special Sunday night training sessions in preparation
Andrew, 15 and Jamie, 14 are competing in singles and doubles together for Team Lanarkshire. They are both feeling a bit nervous but looking forward to it. Jamie was ball boy at the recent Davis cup tie in Glasgow and says Andy Murray is great inspiration
