School Reporters from City of Ely Community College in Cambridgeshire

Schools are being given the opportunity to take part in a dress rehearsal for the UK-wide News Day.

School Reporters are taking part in the third of four practice News Days on Thursday 14 January.

It is a chance for schools to dive in at the deep end and see what they can achieve.

During the ultimate News Day on 11 March 2010 students will be working to a 2pm deadline to create video, audio and text-based news before publishing it on their school website by 4pm.

Schools taking part in a practice News Day might like to rehearse some of these elements.

The first practice News Day took place on Thursday 19 November and the second on 10 December.

During the day, the progress of students across the UK progress will be featured in an hour-by-hour account, enabling students to compare their work with other School Reporters.

Schools may also run practice News Days on any date they choose.
