A student from Elmfield School for Deaf Children in Bristol |
The School Report team would like schools to send in photographs and captions of news-making activities, with a view to publishing them on this website. Please e-mail digital photographs to [email protected] with the password, which web producer Carla Pickering will give you, in the subject field.
The password is to ensure the photographs received are of School Reporters whose parents have given consent for their child's image to be published on this website.
Students, please seek permission from your teacher before sending an e-mail to this address.
Captions
It is important to send a caption with each photograph which contains four of the five "W" facts:
- Who: List the FIRST names and ages of students, from left to right and back row to front row.
- What: Describe the activity in the photograph.
- Where: State the location. Is the photograph of a classroom, an IT suite etc?
- When: State the time was the photograph taken. Was it at the beginning of your News Day or approaching your recording deadline?
A good caption contains all this information in one sentence. Here is an example:
The BBC's Margaret Burgin helped Herman, Chantelle and Eleanor from Manchester Academy prepare to go on air at BBC Radio Manchester during November's practice News Day.
