South African artist Emile Jansen has embraced the challenge of reaching out to vulnerable kids with the help of hip hop.
Since the 1980s, he has been a leading force in the musical movement and now he is using his talents to help children in the Cape Town flats neighbourhood where he grew up.
In this First Person account, Jansen talks about his non-profit project Heal the Hood and how he teaches kids to dance and sing while preaching non-violence.
