A law to protect against identity theft online

Personal reputations can be ruined with just a few clicks of the mouse on the internet. In the US, sullying somebody else's name can be done virtually almost without fear of reprisal. But now California is about to plant a significant deterrent, with a bill that awaits the signature of Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger.
