The special US-relationship with Britain

The outcome of the UK election has implications far beyond Britain's shores. In the US there is keen interest in who will become the occupant of 10 Downing street and set the agenda for America's closest ally. It is a relationship which Winston Churchill famously dubbed a "special" one and which had to overcome a rocky start.
