Following Japan's attack on Pearl Harbor in 1942, more than 120,000 Japanese Americans were sent to internment camps. In these camps some of the prisoners used whatever they could get their hands on to create works of art.

In this first person account Delphine Hirasuma, whose own family was interned in Arkansas, showed us round her collection at the Smithsonian American Art Museum's Renwick Gallery in Washington DC.
