The rising cost of US health care

In the first of our special reports on health care, Katty Kay travels to McAllen, Texas, which some people refer to as the 'poster child' for what is wrong with the US health care system as a whole.

McAllen now spends twice the national average on its patients' health, but research suggests the overall quality of care may be worse than in comparable cities with lower costs.

President Obama suggests the road to reform begins with rewarding doctors and hospitals for quality over quantity.
