Insurance trouble for cancer victim

A viewer found out that her insurer would not renew her travel cover after she was diagnosed with cancer.

Angie Tomlin had to cancel a holiday she had already booked to Florida after failing to secure cover with her insurer Saga.

She has found it impossible since to find a company willing to take on a cancer patient.

Angie is responding well to her treatment and is planning a holiday in Europe for next year despite not having holiday insurance.

There were more than a quarter of a million people diagnosed with cancer in the UK in 2004, which means there could be many other people in the same situation.

Some insurance companies do offer travel insurance to cancer patients based on their individual cases.
