This was an excellent programme which I thoroughly enjoyed. It showed people as individuals.

Once again the BBC manages to find two obscure examples to contrast a relatively insignificant issue and thus obscure and trivialise the big picture.

It's easy to draw lines between people by their way of clothing, but how much can that tell about people? These people have been brought up more or less in the same way in terms of the very basics of the culture. The challenge is to find what makes them similar, which is deep inside and harder to find.

What a fantastic programme. I enjoyed it so much. I love Tekbir fashion and I always visit when I am staying with family in Turkey. But on a more serious note, it does highlight the growing differences and tensions between secular and religious factions in Turkey. I hope and pray so much that we who choose to practice Islam in Turkey can eventually achieve greater freedoms.
Anisa Temel, North Lincs
I lived in Turkey for 10 years and while I recognised the difference in lifestyles there, I think it is better to talk of them as contrasts rather than tensions. The great Turkish people have enough respect for each other that difference of belief and opinion about dress can be tolerated. The only thing I didn't like about the show was when the narrator spoke of the veil, but there were no women wearing the veil, only headscarves, which is not the same thing.
