What a remakable programme. The BBC at it's very very best.

A fine documentary. I hope any similar programmes will examine the roots of this conflict in further depth.
L Edgar, London
We need to see more of such programmes about the plight of the people in that region. I commend the producer of this show for his courage.

I was left asking myself what a similar documentary of Israeli prisoners in Palestinian jails would look like. The relationship between the Israeli guards and the Palestinian prisoners was unique and eye-opening. Well done on producing a rare, entertaining and unbiased riveting item of journalism.
Rob Trister, UK
The programme was very good and I congratulate the producer for making such an open unbiased portrayal.

 | I think you have captured some of the most remarkable moments ever seen on television |
At last a balanced representation of the Israeli/Palestinian conflict from the BBC.
David Chilton, London
Congratulations on a remarkable programme. It brought credit to both sides and to the camera team. Thank you for showing this exceptional documentary which brings hope out of even the worst situations.
Geoffrey Smith, Eastbourne
I thought this programme was very one-sided. At no stage did it attempt to reflect the reasons for the Palestinians' resistance to the occupation of their homes and land.
Joan Bridgland, Surrey
I was very impressed with the openess of the Israeli prison system. The fact that the prisoners are encouraged to engage in a democratic voting system - often their first opportunity - and the level of care and commitment shown by the guards, was quite remarkable.

Bravo BBC! I've been sceptical about the charter and the license fee recently, but this programme was truly ground-breaking. I think you have captured some of the most remarkable moments ever seen on television.
 | A fascinating programme that was riveting |
Sincere congratulations to Nick Read and everybody else involved in an absolutely superior BBC project.
Brian Kaplan, London
This demonstrates that the road to peace begins with dialogue. Understanding the other side can lead to a resolution in this conflict which has dragged on for too long.
Obviously, with all that has gone on before, the wounds are still not healed but how long can the situation go on before gangrene sets in?
David S, UK
A fascinating programme that was riveting. There has to be a climb-down by both sides in this conflict if peace is to be achieved. Continual warfare without end will be the bloody price if this fails.
Robert Daley, Brixton
Very interesting programme. I didn't imagine the life of a Palestinian prisoner to be like that.
Afrina, Manchester
Fascinating programme. It was very balanced and extremely interesting.
Clive Roper, Stowmarket
Imprisonment will never be the solution to the current problems. The real issue lays within justice and understanding of others' rights.
