I have always enjoyed Janoon's music and I thoroughly enjoyed the programme. I would love to see more of these kind of programmes, just to show that Muslims have many views.
Abdul Khaliq, Birmingham

The documentary showed how vehicles such as rock music and comedy can influence sections of the public that established Muslims organisations can not. Rock music has always been a force that can both support and challenge ideas. To see a Muslim rock band challenging trains of thought on both sides of the divide is very exciting indeed.
Naved Siddiqi, Berkshire

I loved this programme. It was in tune with how I feel about being a moderate Muslim.
Farhat Hanif, London

It was an interesting, balanced and engaging programme.
Joanne, Manchester

We urgently need more frank and open dialogue between Muslims and non-Muslims at the grassroots level to try and develop a greater mutual understanding. In today's politically correct atmosphere this will take considerable goodwill and courage.
Mike, Bradford

I found the programme highly insightful and informative in relation to the experiences that Muslims in America have encountered since the 9/11 disaster. We need better resolve and improved communications between all parties to achieve peace and better integration.
Saeed Bihi, Warrington

American Muslims know how to work very hard to dispel the idea that all Muslims are the same. They have to remember that acts and deeds of individuals and groups, not religion, are judged in America. Educating people is very important. Standing up to the evil people who give their religion a bad name is vital for a positive outcome.
Anne, Ashford

I was very annoyed at your programme American Muslims. I don't go round calling myself a British Christian.
Sigrid Taylor, Surrey

Well done to Salman Ahmed for an enjoyable and insightful programme showing that American Muslims are not a monolithic block but a diverse community like any other, full of different cultures and opinions. Keep it up!
Usman Ahmedani, London

I believe the Hasan family, who started the Muslims for Bush website, are totally out of touch with the true feelings of Muslims and with Islam.
Minhal, Nottingham

I thoroughly enjoyed tonight's episode of This World. It really gave a clearer insight into the plight of American Muslims. Thanks BBC for broadcasting it!
Jonathon, London

I have not met anyone, not one single person, who blames all Muslims for the 9/11 attacks. Muslims in the US have shown by their service in the military, the way they reach out to their fellow Americans, and just by going about their daily lives, that they are Americans first and foremost - and we as a country recognise that.
Hank Thayer, USA

Muslims are looked upon with suspicion because of their allegiance to Islam first and their country of adoption last.
Ashok, USA
