Former Paymaster General Geoffrey Robinson admits Labour did not do enough to regulate British banks.
The Coventry North West MP said that it was a "failure" of the government not to have done more.
He was responding to the findings of a Daily Politics poll examining how much respondents blamed the Gordon Brown for the UK's economic woes, Robinson said he thought people had probably "been too generous" towards the PM.
