LATEST SHOW
People are interested in politics and issues - they just do not believe they're listened to.
Baroness Kennedy QC

If you're watching in broadband, here's how to find your favourite parts of the latest show.

1201 We're joined for the whole programme by Labour peer Helena Kennedy, who chaired an inquiry into the state of British democracy that's been published this morning.

1205 For every pound a man earns, a woman in the same position will on average earn 87p. And in part-time positions, men earn as much as 38p more. A government-sponsored report into the pay gap, which has been published this morning, has come up with forty suggestions to try and close the gap. But already there are complaints that it's an opportunity lost. Jenny tells us more, and we're joined by Meg Munn, the Minister For Women (an unpaid post).

1215 Hundreds of Oxford University students took to the streets this weekend to march in favour of a local animal research laboratory. That was despite the threat from animal rights activists who've opposed the lab. One of the organisers of the march, Iain Simpson, reports for the Daily Politics on what got those students out of bed early on a Saturday morning.

1218 The future of Culture Secretary Tessa Jowell is still a hot topic here at Westminster. Ms Jowell signed an application form with her husband for a loan on their house. The Opposition wants to know if there's a link between that money and a payment her husband is alleged to have received from the Italian leader Silvio Berlusconi. Earlier today she was robust in her defence. We talk to John Kampfner, editor of the New Statesman magazine.

1223 We return with your emails and your questions for Helena Kennedy.
