A poll conducted for Panorama: Britain on the Brink shows seventy-five per cent public support for the UK standing "shoulder to shoulder" with the United States.

However, if Osama Bin Laden is killed, captured or handed over, more than half those questioned would not support further military action.

The poll also reveals that most British people do not feel more at risk of terrorist attack than they did before the 11 September attacks and would be unwilling to accept an influx of refugees from the region should the situation deteriorate.
