The novelist Colm Toibin is currently teaching a course on Samuel Beckett and other Irish writers at Princeton University in the United States. His own experience of living in two places, Ireland and America, has partly inspired his new book Brooklyn, which follows the success of the Booker nominated novel, The Master.
