James Brown
James Brown
In 1994 James Brown created Loaded, a magazine for Men Who Should Know Better.

Against industry expectation, the magazine became the most influential title of modern times, going on to sell over 40 million copies over the following decade and creating a worldwide market for young men that now includes Maxim, FHM and many more.

James was voted Editor of the Year repeatedly and the magazine also won an avalanche of awards.

He left Loaded in 1997 to turn around British GQ. In 1999 he created IFG magazines and published a stable of titles that included Viz Comic, Jack, Hotdog and others. Brown sold IFG to Dennis Publishing for a sum of 8m in 2003.

James is now one of the most sought after opinion formers and thinkers on men's lifestyles, new business development and market creation, and the media and entertainment worlds.

He is on the roster of Europe's leading public speaking agency, JLA, and has addressed a variety of organisations including advertising agencies, snack goods companies, and PR dinners, but thankfully is yet to open a supermarket.

James has been instrumental in the launch of the Independent's Media Weekly supplement and consulted on the launch of the Mail on Sunday's LIVE Night and Day supplement. He writes for a variety of newspaper titles.

In addition to print media James Brown is a regular on television including BBC's Newsnight Review and BBC's This Week with Andrew Neil.

He contributed to Sky News' General Election coverage. In 2003, with presenter Richard Bacon and backing from former Thatcher press advisor, Lord Bell, he co-produced Flipside, a programme about watching television live on TV, which the New York Times called "the hottest new format on British TV".

James has recently completed presenting and co-producing a 10 part series about Modern British Riots for Flextech's Bravo Channel. I Predict A Riot airs weekly at 10pm on Tuesdays.

In his spare time he is helping the music entrepreneur Vince Power with his autobiography.
