The people who regularly use and live near service stations apparently wield the power to swing the outcome of the 6 May election, according to analysts.

So Newsnight is sending Stephen Smith to Donington Park services on the M1 throughout the campaign.

On the night of the second leaders' debate, he gathered some of the staff to watch with him and get their reactions as the programme progressed.
