Hip hop superstar Dizzee Rascal has sent a video message from Australia where he is touring, to wish Newsnight a happy 30th birthday.

Dizzee Rascal was famously interviewed by Jeremy Paxman for Newsnight after Barack Obama won the US Presidential election, and then incorporated the programme's theme tune into the opening of his sensational 2009 Glastonbury set.

A special programme to mark Newsnight's 30th anniversary will be broadcast on Saturday 23 January 2010 at 8pm on BBC Two.
