Haiti - the place where hell is the new normal

The scale of the disaster in Haiti is becoming clearer - estimates now speak of perhaps 200,000 people dead, but while aid continues to arrive there is still massive need. Much is still not reaching survivors.

Reports speak of looters particularly prizing toothpaste - it can be smeared beneath the nostrils to disguise the smell of putrefaction.

Matt Frei, who is in Haiti for Newsnight, reports on how all of the ingredients for unrest are now in place.
